2007 PLUG: Independent Music Awards

So while the spectacular musical talents of Mary J. Blige were being awarded by the Grammys last night, there was another, less credible portion of the music industry handing out its awards. I of course am joking. I hate MJB with a passion, but was happier to see the Dixie Chicks win Album of the Year over the others.

Seems silly to waste such a strong feeling like hate on someone you don't even know. But on another note, this Independent Music Awards plug is pretty cool.

Well, it's not my fault she sucks at life, and her job.

Rolling Stone interviewed MJB and they asked her....

RS:
Do you vote for yourself in the Grammys?

MJB said:
Absolutely. Of course. There's not that much humility in the world.

Rolling Stone asked John Mayer the same question....

RS:
Are you going to vote for yourself for Album of the Year?

JM said:
Nope - the Dixie Chicks. I was so proud to be given two guitar solos on that record. Especially since they were able to write great songs and channel all of what happened in the last few years into palatable music - despite having everything that could be going against them going against them.

Well, John Mayer did infact lose Album of the Year to none other than the Dixie Chicks. And I'm sure he was happy for them.

Mary J. Blige did win a few Grammys and when she accepted the awards she thanked everyone she could think of in the music industry and NEVER thanked the fans.

She should be lucky she has a career. She is a no-talent, never-was.
